Do you take horse back riding lessons? How do you like it?

I have always wanted to take lessons and I’m still trying to get my parents to let me. So, if you take lessons, how do you like it? Do you think it is worth my time and money? Any stories you want to share?

A while back, I did take lessons. And just to say, I loved it. Even though I didn’t get THAT far into it, I still learned a lot, but I took lessons in England, so I’m not sure how they are where you are. But it seems fun any way around it. I think I liked it also, because I am a HUGE animal lover, and I just liked to ride the horses. =DD

What level of ridding am I?

I have been ridding for 8 years
I show and compete first level dressage
I show and compete in jumping up to 3′ feet
I have taught lessons
I ride western sometimes in fun shows
I start young horses from ground work to under saddle
I trail ride

I also own 2 horses
I ride every day and ride around 3 horses per day.

What everyone forgets or doesn’t realize is that there are two parts to being a good rider. The first is certain skills you have achieved such as walk/trot/canter or jumping. This is where seeing a video might come in handy for you just telling us means nothing.
The second part is your understanding. You need to understand what happened why it happened and how you are going to fix it. If you can’t do that for every moment of you rider on every horse then you are still a beginner. If you know exercises and ways to fix your mistakes then you are probably doing ok.
. A good rider needs to understand what is going on according to the training pyramid in order to get the best results.

Does anyone know of a fun horseback riding summer camp in California?

I’ve been looking at River Way Ranch Camp, MVCS Horsmanship camp and Pali Overnight Adventures. Does anyone know if these are fun and have good trainig for an advanced rider? Thanks!!

i know of a place i’ve been to that is soooooooo much fun in california. its called silver saddle ranch and you can ride on trails, beaches and lots of other places!!!! it is so much fun!! if you would like the address to it, just email me at shiny_polka_dots@yahoo.com. I dont know which type of horseback riding lessons to do?

Should i do english or western? I have gone to camp and stuff like that so i have ridden horses before. I have ridden both styles but only remember western. Which is easier? I want to start horseback riding classes but i dont know which style to try.

If you do not mind the harder one,, do English,,
It’s harder, but a bit more to it, and most western riders find it hard to ride English
But English riders can do both ,,

I normally ride English but I’m stuck in a western saddle till I get my balance and everything. So hopefully it won’t be too long.

my first riding lesson after not riding for 2 months. My trainer was Rachel. She’s really nice. My partner in crime was Rio. he is an Ariabian. He’s so cute.
