Beginner Horse Back Riding Lessons?

Tuesday Mar 9, 2010

Hi, I am considering starting to give beginner Horseback Riding Lessons Guide Amazon.com’;return true;” onmouseout=”self.status=””>horse back riding lessons. I would like to know what all the kids should bring/wear (because i know some families cannot afford to buy boots and other things) and what all I should do at the lessons. The kids also range in ages i would guess from about 4 – 10. I have been riding for about 15 years and have an old show horse i will be using. Also any other info would be great!

Thanks :)

Hi–
OK, I think you should first make a website, ad in paper.
The students should at least buy their own helmet. You can go to consignment shops and have a range of money I would ask them for a 4+6+8 in boot sizes. If students come with their own great! But if they don’t then you should have them pay you for letting you use your boots. Do you have a barn where it will start if it is a boarding barn you will have to contact the owner and ask if you can do this! During lessons follow the leader (you the leader) around the world. walking maybe trotting. As you know, they will advance! So you will have to have a horse that will be able to jump and show so I would maybe consider asking the boarding barn (if it is) if you can borrow a pony for _______ time. If not you can find a pony/horse that you can full lease/buy. Well, hope i helped.
Good Luck

How can I convince my mom to let me get horse back riding lessons?

Tuesday Mar 2, 2010

I asked for them for my birthday, and she laughed. Any ideas on how i can convince her? I told her, its the only thing I want, and I wont need anything for 3 or 5 years!! she still laughed. So please?

First make sure this is really what you want to do. If it is just talk to her and find out why she won’t let you take Horseback Riding Lessons Guide Amazon.com’;return true;” onmouseout=”self.status=””>lessons. Tell her you really love ridding and that this is what you really want to do. Next call some local stables and see if they can have you work around the barn mucking out stalls, feeding/grooming horses, cleaning tack and doing what every else needs done in exchange for discounted lessons. And save up money so you can help pay for the lessons. You will also need riding boots or some other kind of boots. And you can where jeans but if you ride english you eventually are going to want jodhpurs (fancy riding pants). And if you ride western you are going to want chaps. And you will need to ask the stable where you are going to be riding if they provide helmets. If not you will have to buy one. If you are riding english I recommend you get a black velvet helmet just in case you want to be in horse shows. So as you can see riding can be very expensive!! That’s probably why your mom doesn’t want you taking lessons. Because take it from a horse lover if you take lessons you are going to want to be in horse shows which is very expensive because you have to pay entry fees and buy riding clothes. And soon enough you are going to want a horse of your own and that is more expensive then you you even want to know!! So my point is if you really love this sport you better start saving up some money!!!

P.S. Before you take lessons read some books about horses so you know a little bit about them.
